Please review these terms before booking with Rangel Car Detailing.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rangel Car Detailing website and the mobile detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating, and maintenance services we provide. By booking a service or using our website, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services Overview
Rangel Car Detailing is a mobile car detailing business operating in Eastern Iowa. We offer interior detailing, exterior detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating application, and maintenance services. Services are performed at the customer's location (home, workplace, or other approved site) unless otherwise arranged for shop drop-off services such as advanced paint correction.
All services are subject to availability, scheduling, weather conditions, and site suitability.
2. Quotes & Pricing
All prices listed on our website are starting prices for a standard sedan or coupe. Final pricing is determined after an in-person inspection of the vehicle and depends on:
- Vehicle size (sedan, SUV, truck, third-row vehicles)
- Current condition of the vehicle (contamination level, neglect, pet hair, stains)
- Specific services and add-ons selected
- Travel distance for extended service area locations
A confirmed quote will be provided and approved by the customer before any work begins. No additional work is performed without your explicit approval.
We will never perform work beyond what was agreed upon without discussing it with you first and getting your approval.
3. Travel Fees
Locations within our primary service area (approximately 20 miles from West Liberty, Iowa) are served at no additional travel charge. This includes West Liberty, Iowa City, Muscatine, Tipton, Wilton, and West Branch.
Locations in our extended service area (Cedar Rapids, Coralville, North Liberty, Washington, Brighton, Ainsworth, and others) are subject to a travel fee of $1.70 per mile beyond our 20-mile radius. The travel fee will be confirmed before booking.
4. Scheduling & Appointments
All services are scheduled by appointment only. Appointments are confirmed via phone, text, email, or through our online contact form.
We do not offer same-day or rush services. Quality results require proper time, and we schedule accordingly to ensure every job is done right.
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand plans change. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
- 24+ hours' notice: No charge. We'll reschedule at your convenience.
- Less than 24 hours or no-show: A cancellation fee may apply at our discretion, particularly for larger or multi-hour services where time and preparation have already been committed.
We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to severe weather, unsafe working conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control. We will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a new date.
6. Customer Responsibilities
For mobile services, the customer agrees to provide:
- Safe access to the vehicle at the scheduled time and location
- A water source (outdoor spigot, garden hose, or similar) within reasonable distance of the vehicle, when applicable
- Adequate space around the vehicle for equipment setup and movement
- Removal of personal belongings from the vehicle prior to the appointment (we are not responsible for items left in the vehicle)
If site conditions are unsuitable or unsafe (e.g., no water access, extreme weather, inaccessible location), we reserve the right to reschedule the appointment.
7. Vehicle Condition & Pre-Existing Damage
We perform a visual inspection of the vehicle before beginning work. Any pre-existing damage — including but not limited to scratches, dents, chips, peeling clear coat, cracked trim, or interior wear — will be noted before service begins.
Rangel Car Detailing is not responsible for pre-existing conditions that may become more visible after cleaning (e.g., scratches hidden under dirt, stains set into fabric, paint defects beneath contamination). Detailing reveals the true condition of the vehicle — it does not cause it.
Detailing removes what's on the surface. It may reveal what's underneath — including damage that was previously hidden by dirt, contamination, or neglect.
8. Results & Limitations
We strive for the best possible results on every vehicle. However, certain outcomes cannot be guaranteed due to factors outside our control:
- Stains: Some stains (especially those that have been present for extended periods) may be permanent and cannot be fully removed.
- Pet hair: We perform thorough extraction, but deeply embedded pet hair in certain fabrics may not be 100% removable in a single session.
- Odors: We can significantly reduce most odors, but complete elimination depends on the source and severity.
- Paint defects: Paint correction removes defects within the clear coat. Scratches that have penetrated through the clear coat may be improved but not fully removed.
- Ceramic coatings: Coating longevity depends on proper maintenance, wash methods, and environmental exposure. Estimated durations are guidelines, not guarantees.
We will always set clear, honest expectations before starting any work.
9. Liability
Rangel Car Detailing takes every reasonable precaution to protect your vehicle during service. However:
- We are not liable for damage caused by pre-existing conditions, manufacturer defects, aftermarket modifications, or wear-and-tear.
- We are not liable for items left inside the vehicle during service.
- We are not liable for damage to surfaces or materials that are already deteriorating, improperly installed, or structurally compromised (e.g., peeling clear coat, loose trim, cracked dashboards).
In the rare event that damage occurs as a direct result of our work, we will discuss it with you immediately and work to resolve the situation in good faith. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the cost of the service performed.
10. Photos & Content
We may take before-and-after photos or videos of your vehicle during or after service for use on our website, social media, or marketing materials. No personal information, license plates, or identifying details will be shared without your consent.
If you prefer that we do not photograph your vehicle, please let us know before the appointment begins and we will respect your request.
11. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the service unless otherwise arranged in advance. We accept cash and major credit cards.
For larger services (e.g., multi-day paint correction, ceramic coating), a deposit may be required at the time of booking. Deposit requirements and amounts will be communicated before scheduling.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on the Rangel Car Detailing website — including text, images, graphics, logos, page designs, and code — is the property of Rangel Car Detailing and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission.
13. Website Use
Our website is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate service inquiries and bookings. We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of all information, but we do not guarantee that all content is current, complete, or error-free. Prices, services, and availability are subject to change without notice.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Iowa.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
